Chapter 5, Lesson 12

Roy and Paul go to the same school and live the same distance away, but on opposite sides of town. Each boy rides his bike from his home to get to school. Roy bikes at an average rate of 12 miles per hour and it takes him 40 minutes to get to school. Paul bikes at an average rate of 10 miles an hour.

Write and solve an equation that can be used to find how long it takes Paul to bike to school.
