## Chapter 10, Lesson 7

Pythagorean triples are numbers that make the equation *a*^{2} + *b*^{2} = *c*^{2} true. The chart shows five rows of Pythagorean triples.

In order to write the numbers for Row 6, first write the answers to these clues.

Clue 1: Make an observation about the numbers in the *a*-column.

Clue 2: Write an expression to show how the *c*-numbers are related to the *b*-numbers.

Clue 3: Write an expression to show how each *b*-number is related to the square of one-half of each *a*-number, (*a* รท 2)^{2}.

Now use the answers to the clues to write the numbers for Row 6. Check to see that the numbers you have written are Pythagorean triples.
