Margaret E. Curran

Margaret E. Curran, Ed.D.

Margaret Curran is currently the principal of the Annunciation Catholic Academy in Altamonte Springs, Florida. She helped to conceptualize and design the school and has been responsible for the development of its curriculum, hiring of staff, and its daily operations since it opened in September 1996. From 1988 to 1996, she was principal of All Souls Catholic School in Sanford, Florida. Over the course of her professional career, she has taught at St. Pius V Elementary School in the Bronx, as well as the Antonio Sarriera High School in Puerto Rico, where she taught English courses for bilingual students, and she has served on the faculty of the Catholic University of Puerto Rico and the University of Puerto Rico. Among other awards, Dr. Curran was selected as Principal of the Year in the Diocese of Orlando in 2000. In 2003, Annunciation Catholic Academy received the award of Blue Ribbon School of Excellence from the U.S. Department of Education, and the Distinguished School Board Award from the National Catholic Education Association. She received her undergraduate degree in education from the Dominican College of Blauvelt in New York, master's degrees in education from New York University and Teachers College, Columbia University, and an Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University.
