Carlota E. Morales

Carlota E. Morales, Ed.D.

Carlota Morales is currently the principal of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Miami, Florida. She came to the United States from Cuba 46 years ago as a political exile with limited means. Over the course of her professional career, she has been an elementary teacher, middle school mathematics teacher, college lecturer in a Spanish department, assistant principal and an on-line adjunct professor. She has served on curriculum committees at the school, parish, and archdiocese levels, chairing those addressing Spanish, mathematics, and technology, and has also served in an advisory capacity for a local high school. Among her accomplishments, she established the Padre Pio program, the first of its kind in the Archdiocese of Miami, to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities. In 2000, she received two awards in education: one from the National Catholic Education Association as National Distinguished Principal for the South East Atlantic Region, and the other from the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the U.S. Department of Education as National Distinguished Principal. She received her undergraduate degree in education, a master's degree in education, and an Ed.D. from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
